Landen was born in the year 1479, He was of noble decent-His parents whom traveled often had served under the king of England  Edward IV . As Landen grew He was called to court at the age of 20. He served for many years under Henry the  VII - As a Duke. He married a woman by the name of Dutchess Isabel Chatwyn, Of course changing her surname to match Landen's , they became Duke and Duchess Rawlin. They were well known throughout London, Truly a power couple.

Isabel had given birth to 4 healthy children. Each child was the apple in Landens eye. Though Isabel had been secretly having an affair with King Henry the VII-Landen had only heard idle gossip, seeing the good in his wife, he never left her side.

Landen had been the perfect example of what a man should be toward women. His eyes had always been downcast when other women tried to flirtaciously get into his pants-trying to up their status. Though He refused to take on a lover.

Religion in England changed depending on the views of the monarch and people often felt confused. They were told to change what they believed, how they worshipped God and how they decorated churches. During Landen's life however- before the refermation of faith - The Church was Roman Catholic, Landen however secretly practiced Paganism. Keeping that little secret to himself. For fear of being burned at the stake.

Another pandemic swept among the nations, Some referred to it as THE BLACK DEATH. The first occurrence of the plague occurred in 1347, sweeping through the continent and killing at least a fifth of the population. During the next three centuries, pandemics of “Black Death” recurred repeatedly, spreading panic, famine, anarchy, and violence. Contemporaneous with the Black Death was a period of severe climate change throughout Europe, often referred to as the “little ice age.” This period of drastic cooling resulted in the disruption of agriculture, frequent crop failures and famine, along with the introduction of human and animal diseases that were unknown prior to this time.

The social and political turmoil brought on by these natural catastrophes coincided with drastic political and cultural change. This was the time of the Renaissance (1400-1600), and mass quantities of printed books were available for the first time by the mid-15th century. This was the time of religious reformation, political centralization, and wars between Protestant and Roman Catholic rulers. (In fact, political centralization in Europe caused the witch trials of continental Europe, where most “witches” were killed, to be carried out by professional witch-hunting prosecutorial teams rather than local authorities. The efficiency of professional witch-hunters largely accounted for the much greater number of executions for witchcraft in continental Europe than in the British Isles.)

In addition to the anxiety and fear created by such unusual events, this was the last period in the West when magic still dominated the minds of educated people. Consequently, the tremendous uncertainty, stress, and terror of the period produced magical explanations and conspiratorial theories.

Slowly, over the course of the century, there emerged something new in the European consciousness, the widespread conviction that humans in league with demonic forces were threatening good Christian people. - Landen had been ready to face his death for the cause of the dark arts. Having been with Isabel a practicing Witch -

In the year of 1499- On Landen's 30th birthday, he had come home to find all 4 of his children dead, of the plague. Isabel had fled , leaving Landen on his own.

This is when Dmitri found Landen and used his blood to create the Darkshadows family - Landen became a vampire.

Landen had served the Darkshadow family well. He was a faithful son to Dmitri. So much in fact that Landen was passed down the name of Lord of the Darkshadows family. Taking control of family affairs, he created the council of the Dominon.

For years, It had only been Dmitri, Ares, Devany and Landen- They roamed the world together, traveling all over the planet - Becoming prosperous, In wealth they were able to thrive as a family.

Debra de Angelys, who had served as Oracle to the fates (fallen gods) - had come to find the Darkshadows family, Asking that Landen and Dmitri slay the fates keeper Lucious, they entered the fates temple, Landen in one swing ended the life of Lucious- for the fates had seen something in Landen that they urned for , possessing Landen with the fates, so that he would do their bidding. Landen became darker, crazy with power. He fled to the underworld abyss in the fates temple, where he became a god among the demons. -though Landen would surface to cause chaos in the family.

Landen and Devany were still together, He had gotten her pregnant (which yes insane for most vampires however, the gods had blessed the darkshadows family allowing them to have kindred born children) shortly after having an affair with a demon named Sycari, (a succubus)- Though it was not known to him- The demon had also gotten pregnant.

During this time Devany and Landen had started bickering, she took off leaving him, Taking her child in her belly with her. When she returned with the 2 year old child, She lied to Landen telling him the child was Dmitri's.
Landen however, raised Damien in the abyss out of spite toward Devany-Devany being tainted by demon blood when she was pregnant with Damien had caused Damien to be half demon half vampire - of course being Landen's son the bond with the fates had been exicuted, to where Damien shared in the fates blood.
Once Damien was old enough Landen sent him back to live with Dmitri -even in finding out that Damien was his son. He and Damien had faught all the time before he found out, because Landen had thought Damien was his brother. Landen refused to even look at Vega for the longest time after finding out that Damien was his son.
Aurora, The child born to the demon Sycari-Had sought Landen out when she became an adult. Landen loved the girl instantly and accepted her with open arms as his child. Seeing her blood lust, he gave her the power to be Queen of the Abyss-underworld. She reigned with him for a long time. Helping wreak havic to anyone who did not follow the fates. Though she fell in love with Dmitri and the two got married, Landen rarely spoke to Dmitri after that. He started to plot more against the family-constantly battling with Dmtiri's gods.

Years went by slowly. Landen had been plotting for some time, on how to take over the heavenly realm. He never expected to lose his heart.

Claudia, a woman who was extremely good had been embraced into the family by Dmitri. She intrigued Landen to no avail. He fell head over heals in love with her though he wouldn't admit it for a very long time. Claudia loved him in return, with a pure un-altering love and passion. Yet , she hated the fates inside him and devised a plan to take the fates away. Upon finding an ancient relic, she and Dmitri plotted to get the fates away from Landen. What they didn't know at the time was that in taking them from Landen-Dmitri would become temporarily possessed by the fates.

For 2 years Landen was without the fates, during this time he had gotten Claudia pregnant with a little girl, whose soul was ripped from Claudia's belly- leaving a still born child in her womb. - Landen finally admitted his feelings to Claudia when the pair of them were on a roof together he had shouted as loud as he could " I LOVE CLAUDIA DARKSHADOW." So roofs had become their special place. The two never married but, they were bonded together as mates. Until Claudia disapeared 20 years ago.

Landen having felt as if his heart was ripped from his chest had embraced several other chylder within that time. Kalea, Elijah, Madison, Max, Corvin - All came into his life at various times in history (though his typist can't remember the time line of their decent so we'll leave it at that) ...
He eventually got back together with Vega who gave birth to his triplets, December, Jace and Jewel- Each holding a special place in Landen's cold black heart.

Though no one could feel the void, his loss of Claudia had left him to return fully back into the fates work , allowing them to consume his body. Causing him to become much more wicked then even before. It is now Landen's goal to regain the heavens, as well as Avalon.
